Helene Skogland is a performer and theatre artist that finds herself in the intersection between theatre and dance. She has a physical approach to her work, both as a performer and creator.
Her interest in the body is a pillar in her creative practice, a fascination consisting of several layers. She’s interested in the anatomical body, the social body, the political body, the moving body and the communicative body. The body in relation to other bodies. Helene is eager to generate choreographic images build on body language that naturally exists in all bodies. From this interest she’s intrigued to develop characters and theatrical universes that explores different human qualities and stories, and to visualize all the peculiarities that exists inside and outside of us.

Helene creates her own work in addition to collaborate with different artists and companies. Currently she’s collaborating with artists such as Daniel Frikstad, Sofie Frost and Claire deWangen. Her work has been supported by Art Council Norway and several other norwegian funds. In 2019 she received Rogaland County Council’s Cultural Stipend for her work.
